Being a creative means sharing your voice with the world in your own light. It means changing your perspective and taking risks. Ignoring any doubt that might flash across your mind, breaking any routine you're easily able to be comfortable with. Your greatest accomplishment can come from outside of your comfort zone, and that's what ROM DESIGN is looking to do. They're a Bangkok-London based branding and design agency, and with their new creation SPOTLIGHT, they plan to represent a new generation of Thai designs, targeting millennials.
Igniting the project is the "Thai Mismatch" concept, which is showcased through both fashion designer and photographer, resulting in the stunning fashion capsule, TAKARAWONG X KANRAPEE.
TAKARAWONG has created this special edition, unique clothing line, while KANRAPEE adds flash photography. This highlights people as well as often overlooked objects, along with mix-and-match printing techniques and collage patchworks. The result? A stunning piece of art and design that you normally wouldn't be able to see from afar. If you take a closer look though, you'll see that the details reveal mismatch characteristics, such as fabric stitching. Thai street-wear is as important as ever, and it's highlighted carefully in this collection. It's uniquely placed in the clothing and accessories, all while being represented in a refined fashion. Pretty cool, right?
“The dynamic of street-wear designs that is increasingly present, with the richness and uniqueness of Thai culture, I think it is time to bring the audience to unseen local cultural inspirations.” say Rom Sangkavatana, the founder of ROM DESIGN.
Join them to be a part of defining a new-age cultural coolness. The SPOTLIGHT exhibition will be open for general public on 25 November - 30 November 2019 from 10am - 6pm.
